The Audio IC chip is in charge of all, if not most, of the audio functions in the iPhone 7 series. Its purpose is to receive all the information from the two microphones located in the iPhone. It is connected to the motherboard here, underneath the SIM tray, via 'balls' that are soldered to the iPhone and to the Audio IC Chip.

Occassionally the Rear Camera IC (U2501) can fail & stop supplying power to the Rear Camera. Hi guys, I have an iPhone 7 here. It has classic audio IC problem: Grey-out speaker and takes ages to load. As usual I removed the big audio chip, did the jumpers, installed the IC, then I started to notice something is not right: the phone is warm and took ages to load, the system is very laggard, and the phone wouldn’t charge.
Chosen Solution. The audio IC is not the problem it is the trace gong from the pad on the board to the resistor. This trace separates from the pad due to flexing.
