Answers It sounds like someone set up a disk (system) password on the computer. They would have entered the exact password twice to set it up. So it's usually not the result of "playing" with the computer. Someone has to be fairly savvy to set up the BIOS and/or system password.

PressingF2, Del, nor any other key during boot changes anything. I've tried every single key on the keyboard, one at a time, deligently. I'm at a loss. I'm confident there are no failed parts. I believe this is a software problem with the BIOS.
